Chef Chad has always had a love for food and passion for the technical aspects of cooking. You could say he’s been a Food Dude his whole life, even before starting his own culinary enterprise at the age of 24. He was influenced from early memories of watching Emeril Lagasse shouting “BAM!”, Alton Brown educating with yeast sock puppets, Andrew Zimmern eating the craziest things imaginable, Marc Summers revealing the behind the scenes of ‘industry,’ and Anthony Bourdain making travel not just exciting but developmentally necessary. Chad has always been driven by the curiosity of the unknown and the desire to learn by intentionally getting his hands dirty to gain experience. Chad went to school for business, tacked on a Spanish degree, but ultimately learned that the culinary world was his siren song, and dove in head first.
Driven by a powerfully intrinsic force, Chad elected to bypass more traditional corporate internship opportunities, instead focusing on industry exposure and the ‘learn by doing’ mentality. This led him to a summer working in a parrilla steakhouse in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he picked up hints of both South American and European cultures, and an affinity for top quality beef. The following year, with restaurant ownership as a lighthouse goal, he spent twelve weeks in Phoenix, Arizona working at the Hillstone Biltmore in their management training program. Chad’s experience there was invaluable, giving him the chance to work through all positions in a very successful restaurant in both the front and back of house, finishing the program as a manager running the dining room.
After finishing his formal education at the University of Georgia, Chad began work in Atlanta’s food scene at Local Three Kitchen and Bar, where his culinary journey truly began to take off. Inspired by the historic impact and sheer size of the kitchen itself, combined with the firm but jovial mentorship of Chris Hall and his team, Chad was given the tools and the incentive to grow and learn. Over the course of his two years on that team, Chad worked every position in the kitchen, picking up tricks and techniques ranging from searing fish, broiling steaks, shaving truffles, keeping his tools and station organized, and working under pressure. This led to bigger and more logistics-oriented events. Chad became the catering lead, and specializes in creating unforgettable in-home dinner party experiences. With a passion for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, Chef Chad brings the fine dining experience directly to your doorstep. His journey began in the heart of culinary arts, where he cultivated a love for creating exquisite dishes that not only tantalize the taste buds but also elevate the entire dining atmosphere. Chef Chad’s in-home dinner parties are a symphony of flavors, combining his expertise with the comforts of home, creating an intimate and personalized culinary journey for each client.
